Fleet at a glance

Virgin runs four nearly identical adults-only ships — the "Lady ships" — built by Fincantieri between 2021 and 2025. Because they're sisters of a single class, the real choice is almost always the itinerary and season, not the hardware. Here they are, newest to oldest.

The one meaningful hardware difference: Brilliant Lady is the only ship able to transit the Panama Canal, which is what opened Virgin's U.S. West Coast sailings and its first-ever Alaska season in 2026. She also adds an exclusive restaurant, Rojo by Razzle Dazzle. Otherwise the four are the same ship.

How Virgin scores

It's superb for couples, food and nightlife, strong on its all-in value, and — by design — a zero for families, since children simply can't sail. Two honest caveats. On value: the near-all-inclusive fare (Wi-Fi, every restaurant, group fitness and basic drinks) is real and generous, but base fares are premium, gratuities are a separate daily charge, and alcohol is extra, so it lands strong rather than cheapest. On relaxation: there's a serious wellness side — a big gym, spa and calm adult spaces — but the ship also leans into parties and nightlife, so it's less of a pure quiet-retreat than the classic premium lines.

Food is Virgin's headline strength, and the model is refreshingly simple: no main dining room, no buffet, no upcharges — just a spread of sit-down restaurants, all included.

Every venue included

20-plus eateries, none extra — the sit-down restaurants are the everyday: The Wake (steak and seafood), Pink Agave (Mexican), Gunbae (Korean barbecue), Razzle Dazzle (veg-forward), Extra Virgin (Italian) and the experimental Test Kitchen — plus the all-day Galley food hall. Brilliant Lady adds the Spanish Rojo by Razzle Dazzle.

Because every restaurant is included, trying a different one each night is the norm rather than a splurge — reserve the sit-down spots early.

Why it works

Quality and variety — Virgin's dining is consistently rated among the best at sea, and the no-buffet approach makes even casual meals feel considered. It's a genuine reason to choose the line.

Drinks are the exception — basic still and sparkling water, sodas and drip coffee and tea are included; alcohol and specialty coffee are extra, usually handled through a prepaid Bar Tab that can carry a bonus.

There's also a compact casino.

Wellness & the calm side
