The honest case for official parking is the same one that applies at Port Canaveral and Port Everglades: it's the least you have to think about, and the garage's location — across the street from a terminal — is about as convenient as any Florida port we cover gets. The one thing to go in expecting: the exact walk-up rate isn't something we could confirm firsthand, so treat the cruise lines' $14 to $15 a day as the working figure and the guides' $18 as the ceiling, not a guarantee either way, and consider prepaying through the port's own portal if the promotional rate applies to you.

Hotel park-and-cruise
A park-and-cruise package bundles a pre-cruise hotel night with parking for the length of your trip, usually with a shuttle to the port included. It solves two problems in one booking if you're flying into TPA the day before anyway — which is often the right call regardless, so you're not racing a flight delay against an embarkation deadline.
We've now checked 45 hotels one by one, and the clearest published deals sit off I-4 and by the airport. Holiday Inn Express Tampa East-Ybor City, 4 miles from the port by IHG's count, charges a flat $75 to leave one car for up to 14 days, or nothing with its Stay and Cruise package, and runs a paid shuttle at select times. Holiday Inn Express Tampa Airport charges $10 a day. Quality Inn by the fairgrounds sells a Stay Park and Cruise package at $173 a night with 14 days of parking and a round-trip shuttle, and The Barrymore downtown bundles up to 10 days of parking and the ride both ways into a Ship & Shore rate it quotes by phone.
Closer in, the Channel District hotels are a half-mile walk from the terminals but say nothing about leaving the car, and several Hilton hotels offer Park, Stay & Go without a published price.
