Cruises From Port Everglades

Port Everglades sits in Fort Lauderdale, run directly by Broward County rather than an independent port authority — the same government-department structure as Port Canaveral, not PortMiami's county-agency-with-its-own-branding setup. The port describes itself as "one of the three busiest cruise homeports in the world," expecting 4.4 million cruise guests in 2025, per its own site.

It's a smaller lineup than PortMiami's — 9 cruise lines rather than 26 — but a genuinely wide-reaching one: Bahamas, Western Caribbean, and Eastern Caribbean itineraries all sail from here, which is why this guide is the first in the system to cover three destination ports instead of one or two.

Port Everglades reaches further than either Port Canaveral or PortMiami on their own: Bahamas itineraries run from here on the same short-cruise logic as the rest of Florida, Western Caribbean itineraries run from here the same way they do from Miami, and genuine Eastern Caribbean itineraries — St. Thomas, and beyond — run from here too. That's the first time we've needed a third destination to describe one embarkation port honestly.

Port Everglades runs eight numbered cruise terminals. Like Port Canaveral, and unlike PortMiami, the port's own site doesn't publish which line uses which terminal as a fixed fact — so, following the same rule of stating only what the official source actually publishes, no line-to-terminal table appears here.

Unlike PortMiami, Port Everglades runs one uniform rate rather than per-garage tiers: $4 for the first hour, $8 up to five hours, and a $20/day maximum for standard vehicles ($25/day for oversized vehicles). Off-site lots are a real option here too, though neither of the two we checked directly publishes a firm rate you can compare in advance — one is reservation-gated, the other's own booking site couldn't be independently verified this session. One airport does almost all the work here — it's closer to this port than any airport is to any other Florida embarkation port in our guides. Miami International is the backup, with more flights and a much longer ride.

Brightline's Fort Lauderdale station is downtown, not at the port itself — about 3.5 miles away, a roughly 15-minute rideshare or taxi ride, per independent corroboration from Royal Caribbean's own transportation guide and a Cruise Critic report. Stable

Unlike PortMiami's page, neither Port Everglades' own site nor Brightline's own "Get to Your Cruise" page describes a dedicated shuttle or transfer service between the station and the port — it's shown only as two points on a map. Brightline's Premium-tier tickets include a complimentary Uber credit within a 5-mile radius, which covers the distance, and that appears to be the practical answer rather than a dedicated cruise service.

The Orlando end lands you beside Orlando International Airport (MCO) — the same station PortMiami's guide describes. The Fort Lauderdale-Orlando ride runs about 3 hours, as part of 20 daily round trips scheduled across the whole South Florida-to-Orlando route.
