Cruises From JAXPORT

JAXPORT is run by the Jacksonville Port Authority, and its cruise operation is small and specific by design: one terminal, two lines, four documented destinations. It's the smallest Florida embarkation port we've covered — smaller than Tampa's five lines, let alone Port Everglades' nine or PortMiami's twenty-six.

What makes Jacksonville structurally different from every other port we've covered isn't size, though — it's the split. Carnival Cruise Line sails from here year-round; Norwegian Cruise Line sails only seasonally, November through April. That split carries all the way down into which destinations you can actually reach, covered next.

JAXPORT's own site names four destinations across its two lines, and they don't overlap the way Port Everglades' or Tampa's regions did. Carnival's 4- and 5-day Bahamas cruises call at Nassau and Freeport. Norwegian's seasonal Jacksonville sailings call at Nassau, Key West, and Great Stirrup Cay — NCL's own private island, which no Carnival passenger sailing from here will ever see.

Nassau is the one destination both lines share; Freeport is Carnival-only; Key West and Great Stirrup Cay are Norwegian-only, and only during Norwegian's November-April season. That's a meaningfully different shape than any other port we've covered, where the destination split has always run by region rather than by line.

Common, not guaranteed — the actual stops on any sailing depend on the line, the ship, and the season, so check your specific itinerary rather than assuming any of the four.

JAXPORT runs a single cruise terminal — 9810 August Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32226 — and both Carnival and Norwegian use the same building. Every other Florida embarkation port we cover has needed a call on whether a line-to-terminal table exists; Jacksonville is the first one where that question doesn't come up at all, because there's only one terminal to assign. JAXPORT's own site publishes a full, specific rate table — the cleanest parking case we've covered so far. Standard vehicles: $17.00/day ($68 for a 4-day cruise, $85 for a 5-day cruise). Oversized vehicles: $34.00/day ($136 for a 4-day cruise, $170 for a 5-day cruise). Florida sales tax is included in both figures, and both are confirmed directly on the port's own site — no corroboration-only figures here, unlike Tampa. Stable

Credit cards only; cash isn't accepted. New prepaid reservations stopped as of June 22, 2026, but the port describes its lot as ample with space not limited, so walk-up parking is the norm rather than a risk. We didn't independently research off-site operators for this port — with on-site parking this uncrowded and this cheap relative to other Florida ports, the comparison that mattered elsewhere wasn't the same decision here.

One airport handles arrivals, a bit farther from the terminal than at most Florida ports we cover, but still a straightforward drive. Orlando and Savannah are the long way round, and nobody official measures either one to the terminal.

Jacksonville has no Brightline station or route today — the current network runs Miami-Fort Lauderdale-West Palm Beach-Orlando only. That much is the same as Tampa. What's different: at Tampa, an extension has been publicly and repeatedly discussed by Brightline's own leadership and local transit officials. At Jacksonville, no comparable public discussion turned up in our research — the only Jacksonville-Brightline material we found was a fan-made route-mapping tool, not a source we'd treat as a finding. Treat Jacksonville's Brightline situation as a plainer absence than Tampa's, not a live conversation with an uncertain timeline.
