Every distance ends at Prostneset, the city-centre quays, and every one is a straight line between our own map pins, not a walking route. If your ship is sent to Breivika, every hotel here is a bus or taxi ride; each hotel’s page gives both distances.
Walking times assume an easy pace on streets about a third longer than the straight line. Moxy is the exception: it’s by the airport, a ride from either quay.
Five things make a Tromsø night before easy or hard. Here almost everyone is a short walk from Prostneset, so breakfast and the evening do most of the work. Points come from the hotel’s own site or its brand’s.
Silence scores zero, not a guess. Booking sites don’t count, and a walking time to “the harbour” isn’t a walking time to a cruise quay.

Pool 3, food or a bar on site 3, a kitchen in the room 3, a sauna or spa 3, a gym 3. The Dock’s rooftop running track isn’t scored as a gym, and Comfort Xpress’s breakfast deli isn’t scored as food.
Ties are broken in order: any published parking for your cruise, any stated ride to the ship, free breakfast, then the shorter straight-line distance to Prostneset. Five ties, all settled on distance. Home Hotel Aurora takes first from Home Hotel With on 49. Thon Polar takes third from Enter Viking on 43. Quality Grand takes fifth from Thon Tromsø on 40, by a few metres between our pins. Clarion The Edge takes seventh from the Radisson on 39, and Smarthotel eleventh from Comfort Xpress on 30.
What’s left out is deliberate. Room rates move by the day, so they aren’t scored, and review scores neither. Distances are straight lines between our own map pins, not routed walks or drives, and we say so wherever they appear.
No hotel in our thirteen sells parking for a cruise. Tromsø’s answers are the Fjellet garage, or the airport.
At the hotels. Night rates, not cruise deals: Home Hotel Aurora’s outdoor lot is NOK 300 a night, Scandic Ishavshotel has four spaces at NOK 450 per 24 hours, and Moxy, by the airport, is NOK 170 a day. The Dock points to the Vervet garage at NOK 500 per 24 hours.
In town. Fjellet, the underground garage in the centre, is NOK 450 per 24 hours per Scandic, or NOK 420 a night per Comfort Hotel Xpress. Stays over 14 days must be arranged in advance with Tromsø Parkering, per Visit Tromsø. Height limit 2.20 m.
At the airport. Avinor caps a week (eight days) at NOK 949 in P7 and P11. Add the airport express to Prostneset, NOK 125 a person each way on the last timetable we saw, and it can come in well under Fjellet.

Usually Prostneset, the city-centre quays: Quay 7 for the coastal ships and Quay 8 for cruise ships and Hurtigruten’s North Cape Line. Ships over 230 m go to Breivika, about 4 km north, per Seatrade. Your documents name the quay.
To Prostneset, yes: twelve of our thirteen are within about 500 m in a straight line by our map. Breivika is about 4 km north, so take bus 42 or a taxi.
